We are in Haiti. Here, food is cooked using charcoal, mainly on sheet metal stoves. The "recho" (in Creole) is a small portable charcoal oven used for cooking food. It is sold for 25 Haitian dollars, which is 125 gourdes, equivalent to 2 US dollars, with or without an ashtray.
For household use, it can last from 3 to 6 months, depending on whether the fire is extinguished with water, which causes the "recho" to rust more quickly.
This model was for sale at the iron market in Port-au-Prince in December 2015. The merchant selling it, Marlène, had highlighted it among the others due to its beautiful color.
